Park and Ride permit

Park and Ride permits have transitioned to a digital format, making it easier for you to manage your parking and travel in one place. There is no physical permit to display.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for a Park and Ride digital permit, you must have a MyWay+ account. Learn how to set up your MyWay+ account.

Digital permit setup

To get your Park and Ride digital permit:

You can register up to 3 vehicles under your Park and Ride digital permit. Simply choose the pencil icon under ‘Action’ to add more vehicles.

A vehicle can only be registered to one account holder. If vehicles are used by multiple account holders, you can easily cancel the registration on one account and relink to the new user’s profile prior to travelling.

Your digital permit is valid at any Park and Ride location in Canberra. The permit expires after 3 months and must be linked to an active MyWay+ account.

Important details

To use Park and Ride facilities, you must continue your journey on a Transport Canberra bus or light rail service. Ensure that your payment method (i.e. MyWay+ travel card or debit/credit card) and Park and Ride digital permit are linked to the same MyWay+ account to avoid being penalised.

Parking inspectors will check your digital permit and validate that a connecting journey has been completed on a Transport Canberra bus or light rail service.

Ensure your vehicle’s details are correct in your MyWay+ account to avoid any issues.

Your Park and Ride digital permit will expire after 3 months. To renew your permit or make updates to vehicles:

Light rail drop off and pick up zones

Transport Canberra has drop off and pick up zones along the light rail corridor. Referred to as 'Kiss and Ride', these zones cannot be used for parking and the driver must remain in the vehicle. Locations are outlined on the Kiss and Ride map and include:

Please note during light rail service disruptions, these facilities can be converted into temporary replacement bus stops.
