Why does each MyWay+ account holder require their own email address when registering their account?
Each MyWay+ user needs a unique email address to secure their account through multi-factor authentication. Multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security by requiring multiple pieces of information to access your account.
When you sign up or log in to MyWay+ you’ll enter your username and password as usual.
If additional verification is needed to keep your account secure, a verification code will be sent to your registered email address. You must then enter this code to access your account.
Having a unique email address ensures that only you receive this verification code, protecting your account from unauthorised access.
Important note: When setting up a MyWay+ account for a student, the account must be in the student’s name not their parent or carer. The eligible concession must also be in the student’s name. Each MyWay+ student account will need their own unique email address.
Primary account holders (e.g. parent or carer) will also be able to link multiple accounts in order to manage secondary accounts. This functionality will be available in the coming months.
