Travel for free on Fare free Fridays

Fare free Fridays have commenced which means everyone can travel for free on our buses and light rail every Friday.

It’s a great way to encourage use of public transport and get people out of their car.

Passengers need to tap on and off all bus and light rail services on Fridays to support data collection purposes but are not charged any fares. Data collection allows us to plan for future timetable or network improvements.

If you use your bank card or digital bank card to tap on and off public transport on a Friday, a $1 pending fee may appear in your account. This is a temporary authorisation hold used by some banks to validate your payment information. Depending on your bank, it may appear as a pending transaction on your bank statement for up to 7 business days. But once verified, the $1 charge will be removed and won't be processed as an actual payment.

*Please note old MyWay cards have been retired and will not work with the new system.
